Trust Angela Shulman….You won’t be sorry !!

Selling our parent’s house, our childhood home, was a difficult and emotional experience, especially having recently lost both our parents within five months of each other.  This was the home our father had built with his own two hands over 65 years ago.  The home we all grew up in.  The home they lived in together right up until their last days. 

We needed a Realtor who had a solid knowledge of the local market and the strong marketing skills needed to sell an older, unique and dated home such as this one.  More importantly, at this sad and painful time, we needed a Realtor we could trust, one who would be honest, one who saw beyond the commission cheque and was sensitive to the “human” aspect of the sale.

We interviewed representatives from three different real estate companies. A friend referred one to me, one was a random selection, and then there was Angela, who had “door knocked” and left a “Sorry I missed you” note on the door a while ago.  During the interviews all three presented impressive sales statistics, proven marketing strategies, were backed by a large corporate brand and held long and successful real estate careers in the local community.  They could all be considered qualified for the job.   After all, all things being similar, one real estate agent is pretty much the same as the next, and it really comes down to their commission, right?  WRONG!!  The difference was revealed during the interviews.

While all three conducted themselves very professionally and said all the right things, Angela Shulman stood out. The moment she walked through the door and introduced herself, we could feel her vibrance and enthusiasm.  Angela was energetic, excited, driven, knowledgeable and confident.  Best of all she was genuine, caring and she really listened to what was important to us.  We were thrilled to work with Angela to sell the house.

Angela had a very realistic approach and made a lot of valuable recommendations about how to stage this older unique home.  She not only suggested things we could do to improve the marketability of this house, she also steered us away from investing effort and money into improvements, which would bring very little return.  After explaining the reasons for her suggestions, she left the final decisions up to us, and put no pressure on us at any time.

Angela worked with us, she didn’t “railroad” us.   It was always understood that it was our home to sell.  She provided the information we needed to make an informed decision and respected our right to do what we felt comfortable with.

Angela gave 110% effort from the moment she walked in the door to meet us.  After listing the house she was personally out in the neighbourhood and on the phone getting the word out about our listing.   Her photographer took incredible pictures, which she showcased in a variety of media to market our home.  Within days we had six offers.    

When the other agents brought their offers to the table there was no doubt that she was in charge.  Angela followed all the proper protocol for a fair and ethical presentation process.  She was professional and in control while guiding the entire evening.  It was nerve wracking, but she explained everything carefully, answered all our questions and again, made sure we had all the information we required to feel confident with our decision.

The house sold for well over the list price!  

Angela dealt with every aspect of the listing and sale personally.  There were a few hiccups along the way, which Angela resolved swiftly, and she even averted a deal breaking crisis WHILE SHE WAS AWAY ON VACATION!

Angela is a highly driven, knowledgeable and ethical person.   She is an exceptional sales representative and negotiator. She worked tirelessly to ensure all aspects of the sale went smoothly.   She was honest, straightforward and treated us with respect.  I am so grateful that we had the good fortune to work with her.

First time home buyers during the pandemic was potentially a very nerve-wracking experience for my wife and I, but the professionalism of Angela put our minds at ease and made our journey looking for a home an enjoyable one.
